About Dr Amanda Swan
Amanda is a Clinical Psychologist. She completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in the UK in 2004. She moved to Perth in 2005 and has worked as a clinical psychologist in the public and academic sector since this time. Amanda moved into the private sector in 2022, working within women’s health. Amanda currently divides her time working in both the public system and at Richardson St Practice.
Amanda works with wide range of difficulties, with a special interest and expertise in worry and rumination across the ages. She also has a passion for working with and empowering women, helping with their mental health across the life span. She welcomes referrals of people aged 16 and above.
Amanda provides a warm, supportive and collaborative approach, using proven and effective treatments such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Metacognitive Therapy, incorporating self-compassion, acceptance and mindfulness. She is committed to trauma informed practice and believes in helping individuals to understand and work with their mind and body. Amanda believes in keeping things simple, helping individuals gain clarity and deeper understanding about their difficulties. She will work with you to develop skills and confidence to make helpful changes.
Amanda provides supervision to clinical psychology trainees and clinical psychologists.
